New Spot Will Air in Targeted Legislative Districts in the Tampa Bay Area
St. Petersburg–The Republican Party of Florida today released the first television advertisement of the 2010 election cycle for state legislative races. The thirty-second spot features a political newcomer, Army veteran and business owner Jeff Brandes, who is challenging Democrat incumbent Bill Heller in House District 52.
“With a strong slate of candidates and the political climate in our favor, the Republican Party of Florida is committed to picking up multiple legislative seats in 2010,” said RPOF Chairman John Thrasher. “It’s refreshing to see new candidates like Jeff Brandes step forward to challenge ineffective and unresponsive Democrats who believe government has all the answers.”
The RPOF advertisement “Stopwatch” will air on cable and broadcast television in the Tampa Bay Area.
“As a businessman working and living in St. Petersburg, Jeff Brandes can appreciate the difficult times that many Florida families are having in this economy,” said House Speaker-Designate Dean Cannon. “He’s a strong candidate, facing one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the Florida House. This ad buy demonstrates our commitment to winning seats like HD 52 where the votes of the current Democrat members just don’t match the values of their constituents.”

Jeff Brandes for the Florida House: “Stopwatch”
Jeff: We use this, a stopwatch, to measure time. Because in the real world, with work and family, time matters.
But in Tallahassee, government’s broken, and we’re running out of time. Our communities are threatened. Our jobs are at stake and our homes are on the line.
As an Army officer and small-business owner, ignoring challenges has never been an option. Why should government be any different?
Announcer: Jeff Brandes. He’s putting government on our clock.
