Crist No Longer Supports Repealing ObamaCare
Tallahassee–The Republican Party of Florida today commented on the string of Charlie Crist’s blatant flips-flops and admitted inconsistencies published in today’s Wall Street Journal, most notably his flip-flop on ObamaCare following conversations with Harry Reid.
“If it wasn’t already crystal clear that Charlie Crist is a political opportunist who will stop at nothing to win the next election, today’s Wall Street Journal article lays out specific examples of his numerous policy shifts and also discusses the fact that ‘independent’ Charlie Crist is openly reaching out to liberal Democrat leaders like Harry Reid,” said RPOF Executive Director Ronnie Whitaker. “These conversations with the Senate Majority Leader coupled with his recent flip-flop on ObamaCare are a clear signal that Crist will likely caucus with the Democrats if elected to the U.S. Senate.”
“Charlie Crist claims to be ‘for the people,’ yet while the majority of Floridians oppose ObamaCare, Charlie Crist no longer supports its repeal,” continued Whitaker. “Charlie Crist is so fickle that now he’s not only flip-flopping on policy positions he held as a Republican, he’s moving further to the left and changing beliefs he has held in the few months he’s been a candidate with no party affiliation.”

Crist has flip-flopped on ObamaCare and no longer supports repealing it.
Mr. Crist has made other policy shifts. Despite pledging as a Republican to help repeal President Obama's health-care overhaul, Mr. Crist now says he does not support such a move.
Crist has flip-flopped on supporting Justice Sonia Sotomayor, admitting that he “probably” lied about what he truly believed in order to win Republican votes.
He came out last year in opposition to the Supreme Court nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor, but now says that he "probably" took that position because he felt pressure from the GOP primary. Asked if he felt differently now, he said: "Perhaps."
Crist admits that his convictions can easily be influenced by political considerations.
“I want to do what is in my heart," Mr. Crist said last week. "But other influences have some effect, to a degree."
Crist is actively speaking to Harry Reid.
Mr. Crist said he had spoken twice in recent weeks with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The governor said he had not offered any assurances that he would caucus with the Democrats as an independent, but the discussions with Mr. Reid signal that he may be moving in that direction.
