Gov. Rick Scott: Getting Floridians Back to Work
With this morning’s announcement, we continue to see that Florida’s economy is headed in the right direction. In August, more than 28,000 new private sector jobs were created in our state, bringing the total number of jobs created since Governor Scott took office to 153,000. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Florida saw the second largest statistically significant increase in employment in the nation last month. It’s clear that Governor Scott’s priorities of lower taxes, reduced regulation and a balanced state budget are giving the private sector the confidence it needs to expand, grow and add jobs in our state.
“Governor Scott’s policies are allowing Florida’s businesses to thrive, and that’s good news for our economy. We’re back on the right track and I am confident that we will continue to see positive growth under Governor Scott’s leadership.” said RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry. “Governor Scott campaigned on the promise of getting Floridians back to work, and he’s delivering.”
