Republican Party of Florida Elects New Officers of the Board
LAKE BUENA VISTA – The Republican Party of Florida’s State Executive Committee elected new Officers of the Board today. The Party will be led by Chairman David Bitner. Additionally, the Committee voted to elect Duval County GOP Chairman Lenny Curry as Vice-Chairman. Manatee County Chairwoman Kathy King was elected Secretary, while Leon County Chairman Jeff Howell was elected Treasurer. Additionally, Taylor County State Committeeman Daryll Gunter was re-elected Assistant Secretary and Hernando County Chairman Blaise Ingoglia was elected Assistant Treasurer. The officers will serve a two-year term.
“I’m proud to congratulate our newly elected Officers of the Board of the Republican Party of Florida,” said out-going Chairman John Thrasher. “We’ve got a great team in place to carry us ahead in a very important cycle. With reforms in place, strong elected Republicans leading Florida forward, and marquee events and races ahead, Chairman Bitner and the new Board will serve the Party well at a critical time.”
Newly elected Chairman Bitner said this in a speech to the Annual Meeting just after winning his election: “I just want to say we have a great team. We are taking our country back. There is unity here.” He also went on to thank Gov. Scott and other Republican leaders.
Bitner has been serving on the Republican State Executive Committee as the Jefferson County State Committeeman. He previously was a State Representative, representing House District 71, from 1992 – 2000. Chairman-elect Bitner will serve a two-year term as RPOF Chairman beginning with the Quarterly Board Meeting later today.
