Tallahassee— Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer announced today that the RPOF is establishing statewide leadership advisory councils to reach out to African American, Hispanic and Jewish communities in Florida. The advisory councils will be tasked with building broad-based coalitions and advising the Chairman Greer on issues of interest to these voters.
“We have created a department with the sole purpose of expanding on the vote that Governor Crist received in the African American community during the 2006 gubernatorial election,” explained Chairman Greer. “I have appointed a director and staff members because I know that if we can continue to expand our performance in the African American Community as well as the Hispanic community, there is no way a Democrat carries Florida. It is just that simple.”

Democratic congressional candidate Christine Jennings went more than a year without paying taxes on both of her campaign committees’ payrolls, Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports show.
Jennings paid no payroll taxes on one committee, “Chris Jennings for Congress,” until May 23 of this year, more than three years after its first salary payment. On another committee, “Christine Jennings for Congress,” Jennings paid no payroll taxes until July 31, 2006, about 13 months after its first salary payment.
