The schedule for all official 2008 Republican National Convention events will be set by Republican National Committee and is not likely to be available until summer 2008.
The schedule for all Florida sponsored events is not likely to be available until summer 2008.
Florida has 114 delegates and 111 alternates to the 2008 Republican National Convention.
All Republicans registered in Florida are eligible to run for election as a delegate or an alternate to the convention. Any person who wishes to run as a delegate or alternate for their specific congressional district should contact their respective Congressional District Chair. Any person wishing to run for an at-large seat should contact the Republican Party of Florida.
All Republicans registered in Florida are eligible to run for election as a delegate or an alternate to the convention. Any person who wishes to run for the position of delegate or alter nate delegate must submit a signed and notarized delegate qualifying oath, in the form approved by the RPOF, to the RPOF Chairman at 420 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee, Florida during the qualifying period beginning at noon on March 3, 2008 and ending at noon on March 7, 2008. At large delegates and alternates will be elected during the RPOF Executive Board meeting on May 17, 2008. The date, time and location of the Congressional District delegate selection caucus meetings will be determined by the RPOF Chairman in accordance with RPOF Rules.
Delegates and Alternates at the Congressional District level will be chosen between February 6, 2008 and April 30, 2008 at the delegate selection caucuses. At-Large delegates and alternates will be chosen between February 6, 2008 and May 31, 2008 at an RPOF Executive Board meeting.
The RPOF expects to receive a yet to be determined number of guest passes from the RNC. While no guest passes have been set aside at this time, the RPOF will make every effort to accommodate requests for guest passes from State Executive Committee Members.
A guest selection process will be announced in the summer of 2008.
Although there is no fee to attend the convention itself or to be a delegate, alternate or guest to the 2008 Republican National Convention, all travel and other expenses must be covered by each attending individual. Delegates and their guests will be able to purchase RPOF special event passes entitling passholders to attend all RPOF special events held in conjunction with the convention, such as the Florida delegation breakfast and Florida Victory party. Although final pricing has not been determined at this time, the RPOF estimates that special event passes will cost approximately $250 for delegates and $350 for guests.
